Hi all,
I have been enjoying this forum alot.
Could someone please explain what PQ codes actualy are, and what a PQ sheet actualy looks like waht information is on it and whay that is helpfull to a duplication house.

When I have sent out CDs to duplication houses, in the past I have sent them a Master copy burned using Roxio "Jam". Which I belive makes a red book master, burnt DAO.

How do I get the PQ codes to send them this information?

Thanks, in advance

Peace and good mixes to all

J

The pq code sheet has the times (minutes seconds frames)that the start, stop, and index points are. As far as I know the duplication houses use it to qc what you are sending them with what they are producing. I'm not sure your program will give you a printout. You probably won't be able to include isrc codes or cd text either.

That's one of the reasons I like Sony/SF CD Architect.

PQ codes, ISRC codes, the whole shootin' match is a "print" button away. Easy to use, and sounds good too.

What you've just typed is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this forum is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Does anybody have an idea where I can get this explained exactly?
Do I have to read the "Red Book"?

I would imagine if you type "redbook (or "red book") standards explained" and maybe "CD" and "audio" you'll probably get enough to keep you busy...

Most PQ editing software sticks to the PQ portion of RedBook standards "in the background" for the most part. Other things, BLER rates, C1, C2 errors, etc. require some other form of intervention.
