Howdy Everyone,

My name is Bob. I've been studying sound and audio for over five years now and looking forward to studying some more. Just got myself a new rig, soundcard, software and can't wait to use it.

Thanks soo much Bruce!

Hi, my name's Steve, and I have no clue what I'm doing, but seem to enjoy it anyway.

I'm a middle-aged guy who had a promising musical career at a young age and sold out for the almighty $. Wanting to recapture that which I lost many years ago (~15 years since my last paid gig), I'm trying to revert back to my childhood, make up a little for lost time, and become a shadow of the musician I could've been.

It's fun writing and recording songs, now all's I need is more time to do it.

Thanks for giving this course, it's awesome of you to do this. Besides experience in my home studio, I've learned a ton in the past couple of years from both reading great books and a multitude of information from/with great people on recording BBS's.

-Steve

Cool! I just noticed this new forum.... I signed up for the course a while ago, but I'm just now poking my head in hear to say howdy.

This is a great idea, this should greatly reduce the flooding of your email in box with questions. Big Grin Plus this way everyone else gets to learn from the Q and A as well, instead of only one person.

Ok now, lets see.... A little bit about myself....

I've played drums and guitar for about 9 years now and have picked up keyboards and bass a little bit over the years (a very little that is). I then got addicted to recording about 5 years ago when I recorded a demo CD of my band for my senior project in high school, and it's only gotten worse from there. Wink A few months after I got into home recording I found homerecording.com and a few other recording forums where I probably spent more time than any normal person should... But I learned a lot from them so it was definitely worth it.

I am really looking forward to taking my recordings to the next level with your course. Yay

Thanks Bruce, it's hard to believe that You are taking the time to do this. Your love of music must be beyond words. Thanks again!
I'm a source freak. I love microphones and great songs. Gear is cool but, give me a great song, great source sounds, and a great performance. My foundation is based on song writing/arrangement. I love, and can write music/melody/lyrics in almost any style.
More importantly, I love people.

Thanks Bruce! This is a really good opportunity to gain some knowledge about this whole mysterious thing called recording.... I've been putting together my "recording situations" since around 1980 - garages, basements, attics, bedrooms, the woods, a cave.... somehow I just have a compelling need to record things... I'm now at a point where I'd like to make my home recording work sound a lot better than than it ever has and maybe even contribute something back, to this group or the next...
