Hello Bruce and students!

I signed up for the course a while ago but just joined this forum. I have been playing music for over 30 years and have done some recording. I have done live sound reinforcement and played in several bands over the years. I currently play drums in a classic rock/blues band. I also play bass, piano, and a little guitar. I've finally been able to set up a DAW in my spare room and begin making some noise. I'm looking forward to all of the sonic wisdom to be found here.

Thanks for all of the effort Bruce and Dot. Your committment is much appreciated.

Michael

Hey Guys and Girls, my names Arie.

I'm 16 from New Zealand and when I'm not spending time with my girl friend, I'm recording and mixing.

I'm currently doing my diploma at SAE New Zealand and learning something new everyday.

Pleased to meet you all! Waytogo

I'm pleased to meet you all and looking forward to following the curriculum.

I grew up in a very musical household, my father is a world-renouned bassoonist and my mother an accomplished classical pianist. I studied art, science, and business, in addition to music. I am an eye physician and enjoy recording in my home studio the songs that for decades my mind has been arranging.

My principle interest is in developing reliable and predictable recording techniques, rather than just dabbling in sound, as I do, and incorporating vocals into my instrumental work in a clearly defined manner.

I'm glad to have this opportunity to learn from everyones' experience and to experiment in duplicating their skills.

Hey ya'll names Will, i grew up also in a very musical family.

Mainly filled with dj's singers and producers, i now am traveling my own road to do so.

My style of music is hip-hop but as we progress you will see that i am not close minded as most of my peers and am still able to tell good music when i hear it.

i hope we all enjoy this ride!

My name is Neil, and I have much to learn..... much.... very much.... did I mention that I have lots to learn...?? Smile

Seriously, I have been a musician for about 20 years (ouch), and seriously into home recording for about 2. I have alot of good/midline consumer grade home gear (no Behringer Big Grin), and I know I can do WAY better w/ it. That's why I am here.... My thanks to Bruce...

Hi, I'm Dasher. Been playing music for 58 years, recording (mostly myself and my bands) for 20 years with whatever I could get my hands on, from a Wollensack mono tape recorder to ADATs, the last 10 years in my fifth studio, a 21x19x15' garage that has been converted and conditioned.

It's all about the music. Really. I keep telling myself that...

I just spent time over at the website. It may be depressing, but I'm thinking of submitting a song for mixing. Depressing because I'm sure what Bruce can do in 8-10 hours will blow away anything I could do in 8-10 weeks, or any given timeframe for that matter! Bawling

Having recently discovered the audio course, I have been reading it ravenously (it's so much more interesting than my non-audio day job). Good stuff, and I hope to see more soon.

My name is (not surprisingly) James Jonasson. I've been writing and performing music for fifteen years. I have a degree in music with a sound recording emphasis.

I'm currently recording my first album and trying to beef up my project studio.

Just stumbled across Bruce's free course this morning. Very cool. Read the first couple of "intro" lessons, and am learning and relearning some good stuff.

Hello Bruce (and everyone else)

Looking forward to filling some of the grand-canyon sized gaps in my knowledge with this course, Thanks Bruce Smile

I've been a working FoH engineer for nearly 15 years hoping to make the switch into recording and production, and I'm currently building a 24track project studio towards this aim.

Alan.
