hmmm - maybe i'm alone here (???), but being a big fan of dynamic mics for home recording, I'm very interested to hear your thoughts on this Dot -Smile I've heard the the PR40 described as very similar to an ev re20, for much less...

I picked up a Heil PR-40 about a month ago. So far I really like it, but I don't own any other large diaphragm dynamics that I can directly compare it to. The PR-40 has been best so far on guitar amps, and pretty good on voice. It's got a bright but not harsh character that can be great on the right sources. I haven't put this mic through its paces at all yet, but I imagine it will be really good on bass amps and drums.
