;-) Mainly for a wood feel, but act as a slat resonator to a sense. I did not want to put the insulation behind them though like some do. I already have enough insulation in the walls. There will be wood floors going down tomorrow. I wanted to have a nice warm wood room. It will extend all the way over on that long wall, ending in a Super Chunk corner piece. So far it sounds great. The room when finished should be pretty nice for tracking. Going to put some halogens up for now and get rid of the damn florescence crap. Eventually it will be recessed, but $$$ is on a budget. Track lights with a nice dimmer should be nice.

So I am almost there! I can taste it. Started to close up the room tonight. Waiting on the new traps to show up, then I can install and setup! Probably going to have to buy a butt load of long cables too. Dsub is nice, but damn it!!!!! More cables. Set the small speakers up to test the room. Man it is nice! I have the Blue Sky System One's pretty much on order to replace these guys. Should be a nice bump up. All and all the double wall, double glass, and double doors keep all but the low, low, low end out of the next room. I have not measured the DB rating yet, but it is SICK!

I will have professional pics taken once it is all done. Gotta save for that. $300.00 per room.... OUCH!

Enjoy,

Here are some better lit shots with the rack gear and what not. Still have 3 trap to put up. The firs one is pretty decent to the actual room color. THe last batch were pretty washed out.

The room sounds GREAT! A buddy was over the other dy to help me test it out. Now I just gotta wire it up, clean it up and start rollin. A tad smaller sound room, but overall I think it was a smart choice.

So I took a few pics tonight. Nothin fancy. I need to get a tripod to stabilize the slower pics on the digital. Otherwise the place is looking great. Got the 24 input LIVE room Mic panel in yesterday. A good friend, Justin came down with his very own Dan Walker and everything went well, and WELL INTO THE MORNING! 3am.... whew! Glad I had to go into work Sat. at 7:00am. ugh! All and all though the room sounds great. The Live room is "live" and sounds great. Had to move the vocal mic around some, but once we found the spot it was sweet. Wood room sounded great on amps. Cannot wait to get the Vocal Booth done in the next week or so. (You will see it in the photos. The one with the shit all in it.) Waiting on the door to come in. Here are some pics. Oh, and the new Blue Sky System Ones are due in next week too. The ones now are too small for the room. Hypin them too much.

That's got to be one of the most comfortable and relaxing studios I've ever seen. It looks like chillin in someones living room.

Thanks guys.... I like it. Just ordered the new Blue Sky System Ones today to replace the small media desk ones. I was hypin the room too much, so the new Larger ones will be better fit to the room. Overall it sounds great and the clients who have been here really like the vibe. Futons rule! ;-)

It is in my house and is in the basement, but I feel it is a top quality High End home studio. 3 rooms to track, 1 control room and a Amp/Gear Room to boot. Just a great place to get the music out and do it right. I have in the works a few new pieces of gear.

Starting with:
another API 3124

Going to start a lunchbox of API 550b's and a pair of 560's

Want BADLY a Inward Connections VACRAC

That will be the jist of it until biz starts to flow more. Really pretty happy though and did it right this time around.

Thanks guys

Doc

Of the studios that I've been in, my favorite was the Acoustic Chamber in Kent, WA. It was built onto a guys house but but I would never classify it as a home studio. 24 track tape, large high end console(don't remember brands) and a sweet ass live room. A srious mic locker too. My point is from the looks of it, it looks like you've built yourself a "top quality High End studio" regardless of where it's located. You did a fantastic job.

Just a couple pics of the new monitors (Blue Sky System One's) and a drums shot when we tested the room the other night. Monitors sound much fuller in the room and the drums sounded fantastic.

Enjoy,
Doc

So the Vocal Booth is finally done. Last step now is to wire up the mic panels in each room.

Big Room - 24 inputs
Wood Room - 16 inputs
Booth - 8 inputs

UGH! The booth sounds great though. A little flutter on the top left back behind the door. May have to get some foam up there? Not too worried though. The mic position is DEAD!

Pretty happy!

So this is my "GUITAR HERO" Rig. I love it. The Les Paul is a buddies, but I want one now. Never liked these before, but nw I think that I am sold after messing with it this past weekend. Ggranted the 85 JCM 800 50 watt helps out too.

Enjoy,

Doc

You gotta be kidding. LPs rock!!!! Big Laugh
What pickups does it have in it?

I like the lighting in your room now, very tasty!

You should try one of those little daddario stools, very comfortable for playing.

Not sure on the pickups. Stock I believe. I think that this was the 85 re-issue? Again, not sure. Never been a BIG fan of them, but this thing played like a dream.

Lighting did turn out pretty cool for the pics. I was happy. Place sounds great and looks great. Just mixing now. Gotta get some bands in soon. Booking now though so that is cool

Thanks,
Doc

It's hard to say, it looks like 50s body to me & as far as I can tell from the pics 60s thinner neck. I think it's LP Standard in iced tea. I believe they put burstbuckers in them, which means the neck pickup should sound amazing.
