Hi guys!

Mix Deconstruction videos now up at:

http://bruceamiller.us/b_main/audio_course.html#mixdecons01

Although the first set of deconstruction videos include sections on vocal, bass and lead guitar EQ and Multi-Compression, more emphasis is placed on MIXING the tracks to enhance expression and combining different effects to make a single vocal space.

Thanks,
Bruce

Cool, bummer (for me at least) is that it looks like you need a full version of Quiktime, in order to view at a larger screen res.

The way it comes up for me right now, unfortunately isn't going to be much help, as it's way to small a screen Frown

I couldn't find any options in Quicktime to expand the video but again, I have the free version.

Anyone have any idea on why I can't get any audio to play on these deconstuctions? Every other prog I have is fine. I checked the proper audio destinations, connection speed and all that jazz. It's the only audio prog open at the time.

OK.. have audio, but I got this delay thing goin on so I still have no idea what is being said. Anyone know what THAT is about? I've never had probs with quicktime. Even my saved movies are plagued with this doubling so I'm doubting it's a connection thing. This is the newest version I'm suffering with here. Thanks. And thankyou Bruce for spending the time on this.

Thanks, Bruce!! I *really* got a lot out of these.

FWIW, I'm not having any technical problems viewing the videos, they look great.

The vid clips made something that could be difficult to follow seem easy. For instance, the visuals of the reverb and delay automation of the guitar solo made plain what you were accomplishing there - the moment by moment description and automation graph guiding the listening. I like the approach using the camera locked on the screen. The movements of the hand over it makes it seem like you're sitting right here.

I had figured from your web page info that this was going to be good re recording skills, but this is really impressive teaching. I appreciate the work that went into making the videos.

Do the video clips require the "Pro" version of Quicktime? When I first went in to the lesson, I was prompted to download Quicktime (I didn't have it on my PC). I DL'd and installed the free version. But now that I go back in, nothing happens. All I see in the video link is the Quicktime "Q" with a question mark in the middle of it.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Sorry to report that at 23:30 GMT I cannot see any video. When I view the source code, there is no reference to any media files either. I tried viewing in Opera, Firefox and IE6. I have QuickTime, Realplayer and Windows Media Player all installed, plus a Flash plugin.

Any ideas?

Bruce:

I sent you an e-mail as well. It appears that I am not the only one having some difficulty with Quicktime. I'm not sure what would be involved in making the clips available for Windows Media Player or RealPlayer but I certainly would appreciate it!

If you save the video to your hard drive and then open it with the free quicktime viewer instead of the browser plugin, you can double the size of the picture which gives you a pretty decent picture.

The videos are great, the schooling is fabulous. I've watched them several times already and it's still fascinating.

Thank You Bruce!

I noticed that the videos are using the Quicktime browser plugin. I'm trying to view them at work (OK shoot me Smile) and it wouldn't surprise me if they were blocking video through plugins.

Is there a chance the lessons could be made available via file downloads? Just a thought.

I'm hearing too many people say the videos are great. I gotta see 'em. I'm jealous. Smile

There's a link below the browser video screen to download the .mov file. Scroll down and you'll see it.

Man, I have tried everything to dl the "cheesy" QT player for this, and the dead ends are plentiful. What ext is a .mov file anyway?

Oh well

Thanks Tim, I see it. Or at least I'm pretty sure I do. On the introduction page the link says "Introduction - Quicktime Movie." That's what you're talking about right?

When I hit that link I get an "Access Denied" message. When I right click and try to save I get something like "Internet Explorer cannot open this site.." or something to that effect.
